A Note on Satire.
What is real, what is rhetorical, and why the difference matters less than you might think.
This is not the official E20 Janta Party account
This domain — e20jantaparty.org.in — is an independent satirical commentary website about the E20 fuel-policy movement. It is not maintained by, and has no relationship with, the people who run the E20 Janta Party accounts on X and Instagram.
Nothing published here is an official statement of the movement. Membership, cards, and community features on this site are symbolic participation on this website only — they do not enrol you in the E20 Janta Party movement and confer no standing with it.
For official announcements, movement participation, and press contact, go to the official E20 Janta Party accounts on X and Instagram.
Official movement: E20 Janta Party (X & Instagram).

Community content is moderated; unlawful material is removed; and grievances are handled through the channel described on the Legal & Transparency page. This is, in part, a work of satire
This site borrows the visual language, manifesto format, and ceremonial seriousness of a political party because that is a precise vehicle for commentary on a fuel policy that reached every pump before readiness was settled in public. Coverage frames the real-world E20 Janta Party as a digital protest / pressure group — not an Election Commission–registered organisation. We are not that movement either: we are independent satirical commentary about it. The aesthetic is sincere. The hyperbole, when it appears, is hyperbole.
If you arrived here believing this website is a registered electoral organisation with a building, a treasurer, and a number on the ballot, you may be slightly disappointed. If you arrived looking for consumer-rights writing that takes fuel choice seriously — and separates movement arguments from government and manufacturer positions — you are in the right place.
What is genuinely sincere
- The demands.A mandatory 100%-petrol option at every pump, independent third-party testing of E20's effect on pre-2023 engines, a compensation or retrofit path for E20-related damage, mandatory blend-percentage signage at the pump, and a readiness-gated rather than calendar-gated rollout — these represent actual policy positions this site advocates. The figures and mechanisms are drawn from public reporting and government statements, cited where used.
- The analysis. The essays in /articles are written with the intent to inform, not to mislead. Where they cite specific incidents — such as the Union Minister for Road Transport publicly acknowledging a mileage drop, or the Supreme Court dismissing a PIL against the rollout — those incidents occurred and are matters of public record.
- The tone. The party voice is sharp, opinionated, and confrontational. That is the register; we mean it.
What is satirical
- The party's organisational claims. When the site says it has no PA, that is both true and a joke. When it says it is headquartered “wherever the wifi works,” that is both true and a joke. E20JP currently has no salaried staff, no office. It is funded by voluntary community donations — zero corporate donors.
- Membership categories.“Stranded at the pump, quietly furious, reading the fine print on their warranty” is a real description of the constituency. It is also visibly self-mocking. We are not running emissions tests.
- Specific rhetorical flourishes.Phrases like the “Approved” stamp, “Edition No. 001,” and “Live since yesterday” are part of the visual gag. They do not refer to actual licences or print editions.
On naming public figures
Several essays and demands name specific living individuals — ministers, oil-marketing company officials, and public spokespeople who have made public statements about E20. These references are commentary on public figures performing public functions, in the context of editorial criticism. They are factually grounded and protected as fair comment under Indian and international media-law norms.
If you are one of the figures referenced and you believe a specific factual claim is inaccurate, write to info@e20jantaparty.org.in with the correction. We will review and, if the correction is substantiated, update the relevant passage and credit the source.
Bottom line
Read the site as you would read Private Eye, The Onion, or any other publication where serious policy analysis arrives wrapped in the format that makes the analysis tolerable. The seriousness is the point. The wrapper is the gift.
