What the pictures are about

E20 Janta Party is a newly emerged digital protest movement that gained rapid attention in late July 2026. Media coverage describes it primarily as an online movement or pressure group — not an Election Commission–registered political party. Inspired by the earlier Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) campaign, it centres on opposition to India's widespread E20 (20% ethanol-blended) petrol adoption and on consumer choice: the availability of unblended (100%) petrol alongside E20.

Core demand: Consumers should be able to choose between E20 petrol and 100% petrol at the pump.

Some coverage also notes calls for the resignation of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in connection with criticism of the E20 fuel policy. This site does not speak for that demand.

Arguments commonly attributed to supporters — advocacy positions, not settled technical findings:

  • Consumers should have freedom of fuel choice.
  • Older vehicles should not be forced to run only on E20.
  • Mileage may drop when using ethanol-blended fuel (a claim drivers raise; agencies and many manufacturers dispute the scale and causes).
  • Fuel-policy changes should include greater public consultation.
  • Fuel pricing and blend information should stay transparent at the pump.

Government agencies and many manufacturers dispute claims around mileage scale and systematic engine damage. Full framing: About E20JP. Official movement: E20 Janta Party (X & Instagram).
